Dr. Jonathan Wong
MD, FRCPC, FAAP

Pediatric Cardiologist | Clinical Lipidologist
Jon is a pediatric cardiologist and pediatric cholesterol specialist. Jon's clinical practice focuses on the management of pediatric cholesterol disorders and general pediatric cardiology. He strives to identify and treat children at risk for cardiovascular disease early in life to prevent heart disease before it starts. Jon takes a holistic and personalized approach with his patients, focusing on lifestyle changes to combat high cholesterol and reserving medications for patients with severe genetic high cholesterol.
Jon serves on the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Committee for the American Heart Association, where he has been involved in the creation of international pediatric cholesterol guidelines/statements. Jon is involved in clinical research for cholesterol disorders in children and is actively advocates for the screening for hypercholesterolemia in children. Jon also serves as a consultant pediatric cardiologist for Toronto FC and the Toronto FC Academy.
Dr. Peter Wong

Pediatric Cardiologist | Clinical Lipidologist
Peter is a pediatric cardiologist with additional certification in lipidology. His clinical practice spans general pediatric cardiology and the specialized care of children with inherited or acquired cholesterol disorders. Peter is particularly focused on early identification of cardiovascular risk in children and working closely with families to build personalized care plans that prioritize prevention and long-term health.
Peter believes in treating the whole child—balancing clinical precision with empathy, accessibility, and family-centered communication. He supports families through every step of the journey, from initial screening to diagnostic testing, lifestyle intervention, and ongoing monitoring. He also brings a collaborative mindset to care coordination with pediatricians, family doctors, and allied health professionals.
In addition to his clinical work, Peter has been recognized nationally for his dedication to medical education and community-based pediatric care. He is actively engaged in public health and advocacy efforts to improve cardiovascular outcomes in children across Canada, and he contributes to national training programs to support the next generation of pediatricians.
